VIDEO/PHOTOS: IDF Training Exercise With ‘Rescuers Without Borders’ in N. Shomron

Following a combined continuing education seminar of members of Rescuers with Borders from Mevo Dotan and IDF medical personnel, held in Mevo Dotan in Northern Shomron, a training exercise was held in that area to permit the participants to practice some of their skills and to permit evaluating their joint efforts.

Training mannequins simulating injury and persons dressed as wounded were used in the exercise, which involved 30 victims in total. Those supervising the exercise explained it was held on a “very high level and it simulated the real thing as close as one can”, permitting the paramedics to display their advanced life-saving skills in the field, under the harshest of conditions. It was reported that there was a “high level of human encounter, a sharing of knowledge between the institutions, both military and civilian, and the theoretical learning was tested in the field…”

Officials affiliated with the Rescuers Without Borders organization stress the importance of such training exercises towards maintaining a level of proficiency which permits its personnel to operate in the field on the level they do.
