Protester Of The Induction Of Women Into The IDF Arrested For Being AWOL

They were outside protesting the IDF drafting of women, a regular event for some, but this protest ended differently for one of the participants, who is listed as being AWOL (Absent Without Official Leave) from IDF service. In fact, a small number of avreichim from Yerushalayim and Modi’in Illit have been protesting on behalf of the girls on an almost daily basis, acting on their own, without rabbinical instruction receiving little or no media coverage.

At the protest on Tuesday evening, at a protest at the entrance to Modi’in Illit, the small number of participants attempted to block the road. One of them, who is AWOL from the IDF, insisted on doing as he pleases, preferring to ignore the orders of police on the scene.

He was arrested and when they ran his identity number into the computer, that learned he is wanted by military police. He remains in custody.
