TERROR: Two IDF Soldiers Wounded in Car-Ramming Attack; Two Palestinian Terrorists Killed

Two Israeli soldiers were injured in a pre-dawn car-ramming attack before dawn on Monday, one of them seriously. Soldiers opened fire on the Palestinian vehicle, killing two terrorists and wounding the third.

The attack occurred at around 3:30AM near Kfar Naama, in the vicinity of Talmonim Junction, northwest of Ramallah.

“Terrorists rammed their vehicle into a number of soldiers who had stopped by the side of the road at the entrance to the village,” the IDF said. The wounded soldiers were treated on the scene by civilian and military EMS personnel.

It is reported that soldiers were operating in the area – involved in counterterrorism activities – at the time of the attack. They stopped their vehicle on the side of the road due to some kind of a malfunction. The were compelled to get out of the vehicle, and this is when the terrorists took advantage of the situation and rammed into them.

The wounded, an IDF soldier and Border Policeman, were transported to Tel Hashomer Hospital in Tel Aviv.

Later Monday, another IDF statement said an initial inquiry “indicates that the incident was a terror attack” and that the Palestinian suspects had also thrown firebombs at a nearby highway earlier in the night.

Palestinian officials identified the two dead terrorists as Amir Daraj and Yusuf Anqawi, both 20 years old and residents of villages near Ramallah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had ordered the IDF to expedite the demolition of the terrorists’ homes.

MDA paramedic Ahuva Stern said: “When we arrived, they led us to an IDF medical force that treated two young people who were injured by a car. They were both fully conscious. We treated a young man in his twenties who was suffering from extensive systemic injuries. We gave him life-saving medical treatment including sedation and ventilation and evacuated him to the hospital in severe and stable condition.”

MDA paramedic Yishai Rauchberger and senior MDA medic Akiva Oshri added: “We joined an IDF medical force and treated a 19-year-old in the intensive care unit. He suffered from a leg injury and told us that he was hit by a car. We gave him medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital. He remained calm and communicated with us.
