Yossi Deutsch Explains Why ‘Gimmel’ Opened A Facebook Account

Some four months after losing in his Jerusalem mayoral bid, Yossi Deutsch is now working shoulder-to-shoulder with senior Degel Hatorah officials, who were his political nemesis during the municipal elections.

During an interview with Kikar Shabbos News, Deutsch explained “to my sorrow, we only unite during times of danger, and we understand the enemy from outside is far more dangerous than our internal conflict.”

He warned that if following the Knesset elections, Blue and White forms a government, “we will lick our wounds for years to come”.

He added that regarding the so-called ‘working chareidim’, there are those who vote for another party but when they require assistance, they do not hesitate to come to Yahadut Hatorah for assistance, even if not counted among the avreichim who vote for the party.

Deutsch added that it is easy to blame each other, and chassidim are not voting in large numbers for Likud, just as they did not vote for Aliza Bloch in the Beit Shemesh mayoral race, “but it is easy to blame the other side” he reiterated. He added, “This is a serious problem and we will leave no stone unturned to prevent this”.

When asked to comment regarding an investigation against Litzman, he explained the deputy minister’s doors are open to all and he assists many, including non-chareidim, citing the woman he assisted is not affiliated with Gerrer Chassidus, and he had no connection to them prior to her request for assistance.

Deutsch then addressed the Yahadut Hatorah Facebook page, he explains some of the party’s voters are on Facebook, on social media, and “while we must remain strong on Yated, Hamevaser and Hamodia, Facebook cannot be ignored as the young are there as well as other places and we must bring these young people home”.
