11:19AM: The IDF and agents of the ISA (Israel Security Agency/Shin Bet) are operating inside the PA village of Burkin in Western Shomron, as the manhunt continues for what appears a lone terrorist, who perpetrated the terrorist attacks at Ariel Junction and Gitai-Avishar Junction earlier Sunday, beginning at about 9:45AM. One person was killed and two others were wounded, with one listed in critical condition with head injuries and the second; with abdominal and thoracic injuries. Both are being treated in Beilinson Hospital.
The IDF Spokesman is now confirming the search is for one terrorist, as earlier it was uncertain if perhaps there are more than one involved in the attacks.
UPDATE, 12:03PM: The manhunt for the terrorist continues in Burkin. It is reported that “activities” are also taking place in other PA villages. Security forces are aware of the identity of the terrorist at this time, with the media being told he is not necessarily a resident of the village of Burkin, where he fled.
Prime Minister Netanyahu, this morning (Sunday, 10 March 2019), at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting, made the following remarks regarding the terrorist attack near Ariel:
“We are in pursuit of the terrorists at two points in the Ariel area. I offer my support to the soldiers of the IDF, the ISA and the security forces who are pursuing the terrorists. I am certain that they will apprehend them, and we will deal with them to the fullest extent of the law as we have done in all of the recent incidents.”
