VIDEO: Driver Traveling On Route 4 With An Open Door To Transport A Bench

Police on Tuesday apprehended a motorist driving on Route 4 with an open door as he was transporting a piece of furniture too large for the vehicle. Police explain that transporting cargo by vehicle requires the driver to ensure that the cargo is transported according to the traffic laws. Failure to comply with the law endangers the actual users of the road and the driver is liable to a fine.

On Highway 4 near the Bnei Brak interchange, a police motorcycle officer detected a private vehicle traveling on the road with the right rear door wide open, and a large object protruding from the vehicle.

The policeman, who identified the risk of the drivers and motorcyclists moving in parallel to the vehicle, immediately signaled the driver to stop at the side of the road.

The driver, a resident of Tel Aviv, was on his way to Bnei Brak with the bench on the backseat protruding from the right rear door of the vehicle, so the door couldn’t close. After claiming that he was afraid to put the bench on the roof, the driver was explained the nature of the offense and the danger involved in transporting the cargo in this manner.

A driver was issued a summons for being careless after the policeman made sure that the cargo was legally loaded.
