Otzma Yehudit Protest At Kerem Shalom Crossing Leads To Attack By Angry Truck Driver

Members of Otzma Yehudit on Monday morning protested opposite the Kerem Shalom Crossing into Gaza. The protesters blocked the route and interfered with trucks trying to cross from southern Israel and the Gaza, as they feel goods should not be permitted into Gaza as long as rocket attacks continue.

During the protest, one of the truck drivers tried to attack one of the protesters with a knife. The truck driver claims that he was not attacking but defending himself, the protesters came in first with some kind of a rod.

Among those taking part in the protest was Otzma Yehudit candidate Itamar Ben-Gvir who called the opening of the crossing by Israel “a mark of disgrace”, as goods are permitted to flow into Gaza while sirens continue to sound in Gaza border communities.

There were no reports of injuries or arrests.
