Piron Praises Bayit Yehudi for Supporting Rav Stav

pironMinister of Education (Yesh Atid) Rabbi Shai Piron praised the Bayit Yehudi party for officially backing Rabbi David Stav for his bid to become Israel’s next Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi.

Not too long after Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett announced his party’s support for Rav Stav, Piron released a statement praising the decision. “I was happy to hear Bayit Yehudi has opted to join the coalition supporting Rav Stav, who will continue working to bridge the gap between the religious and secular and improve the status of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.”

Tzohar Rabbonim released a statement that “Rabbi Stav will continue working with all sectors, chareidi, dati leumi and non-religious towards bringing them all closer together, towards improving the Jewishness of the state, and towards effecting a real change in the activities of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.”

  1. Piron, why don’t you vote for yourself? You’re such a big Rabbi, you know better than all Gedolei Yisrael how to educate charedim. Or at least vote for your partner, Lipman. He’s as great as you. Or better yet, both of you together would make the best Zionist Chief Rabbis Israel has ever had. The two hefker-yingen, Lapid and Bennett, would certainly support you guys.
