The unexpected chareidi victory in the election for 21st Knesset resulting in a combined 16 seats for Shas and Yahadut Hatorah was reason for celebration for HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Zilberstein.

HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Zilberstein Shlita, a member of the Degel Hatorah Moetzas Gedolei Torah on Wednesday morning commented briefly, giving a short drasha after the neitz shachris minyan in a Ramat Elchanan shul in Bnei Brak, saying, “We hear that the two chareidi parties have achieved more than expected,” said the rav. “There is a great kiddush Hashem here, first of all, in my opinion, HKBH’s name is not lessened and secondly, Kovod Hatorah is not lessened, Kovod Hatorah of Rabbeinu HaGaon HaRav R’ Gershon (Edelstein), and may HKBH has rachmanus on us”.

Rav Zilberstein said the results are a very very big Kiddush Hashem, calling for the recitation of two perakim in Tehillim, beginning with מזמור לתודה.
