While the IDF remains prepared for “any eventuality” southern district officers explain, the military is standing down from its recent alert status along the Gaza border as the situation has calmed.
As the situation along the Gaza border intensified, two brigades were deployed along with artillery and armored units, all to send a message to the Hamas regime in Gaza as well as to prepare for any eventuality, including increased attacks across the border. A limited number of reservists were also called to duty.
With the welcomed decrease in incendiary balloon attacks along with calm along the border, the decision was made to step down from the alert level and to release most of the reinforcements from the area.
