Security Cabinet to Hold Special Meeting Sunday; To Include Bennett and Shaked

Following the ongoing rocket barrage that is blanketing Israel’s south, the Security Cabinet will meet on Sunday morning in the Knesset for a special meeting to plan the Israeli response to the attack. As a new government has not yet been formed, the outgoing Security Cabinet will be meeting and dealing with the situation.

Thus, Former Knesset Members and Ministers Ayelet Shaked and Naftali Bennett will be part of the Security Cabinet meeting, even though they are no longer members of the Knesset. This will be the first time that the Security Cabinet is meeting since March 30th.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who is also currently serving as Security Minister has instructed the Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi and the Head of the Shabak Nadav Argaman, to prepare for multiple days of conflict with Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in Gaza.

The IDF has struck more than 120 targets inside Gaza in response to the rocket attacks. So far, eight Palestinians have been reported killed by IDF fire.
