IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi is leading this year�s March of the Living group to the former Nazi death camps in Poland.

The group numbers 12,000, mostly youths, one-third non Jews, with participants from 52 countries. It is also the IDF commander�s first visit to Poland.

On Wednesday night and Thursday, Israel will observe Holocaust Remembrance Day, with the main ceremony taking place on Wednesday night in Jerusalem�s Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum at 20:00. The event will be broadcast live on Israel Television and will be attended by many dignitaries, including President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
