MK Yaakov Asher: Ultimately, the Anti-Chareidi Incitement Will Only Bring Additional Voters

MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Yaakov Asher, like his party colleagues, is busy traveling the nation, speaking to audiences and working to enlist additional support for Yahadut Hatorah ahead of Election Day.

During a Sunday morning interview, Asher explained that the incitement campaign taking place against the chareidi tzibur will only serve to bring additional votes to Yahadut Hatorah.

“The delegitimization campaign against us will only bring additional voters to us. Yesterday, we saw how masses of traditional and others being ‘mitchazek’ greeted Maran, Sar HaTorah, when he arrived in Tel Aviv and this is the true response to the inciters.

Asher explained that for most Israelis, religion and tradition remain important components of their life, as do religious symbols and a religious lifestyle, and at the end of the day, “we serve and represent not only the chareidi tzibur but also those coming closer, as no one has a monopoly over Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan”.

When asked to respond to fears that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu may opt to form a coalition with the secular parties, Asher responded, “Politicians have no true ideology. At the end, they may enter into a pact with many types, and therefore, there actually is a real fear that a coalition may be established that will exclude the chareidim. Everything is possible in Israeli politics. The Blue & White party might actually break apart into small pieces. Lieberman is always busy with the Arabs and security, and now, he heads the incitement against us. Therefore, we must be larger and stronger to ensure they need us”.
