Gantz Cannot Form A Coalition But Lieberman Blames Netanyahu

The chairman of the Blue & White party, MK Benny Gantz, on Sunday morning realized he has 18 days of the 28-day presidential mandate remaining to form and present his coalition government to President Reuven Rivlin. To date, Gantz, like Netanyahu before him, cannot form a coalition. Yisrael Beitenu party chairman, MK Avigdor Lieberman blames Netanyahu in a Facebook post on Sunday.

Lieberman explains it has been 48 days since the Knesset election, and the people have spoken loud and clear, expressing a desire to form a liberal broad-based national unity coalition government. “Unfortunately, there are elements working to torpedo this and instead of focusing on reality, they are busied with personal matters.”

He adds that since the election, his party has received a number of one-sided offers that could harm the negotiations towards forming a government, like backing the bill preventing filing an indictment against a ruling prime minister,” seeking to send the message that he is interested in a broad-based liberal national unity coalition and not other solutions.

He added his party has acted in the interest of saving time by suggesting a coalition with an agreement to rotate prime ministers, beginning with Netanyahu serving first. He insists he presented this to Likud during negotiations, but he never received a response.

Lieberman blames Netanyahu, stating, “Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is leading the nation to a third round of elections as he clings to a right-wing chareidi/messianic bloc for personal reasons only, and therefore, he is willing to sacrifice the chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee and the immigrants from the Former Soviet Union for this bloc”.

Lieberman adds, “The attempt to hold the stick at both ends – both to come to negotiations to establish a unity government with the chareidi/messianic bloc and to be first in the rotation – certainly points out that paralysis of state institutions and a third round of elections will be Netanyahu’s responsibility, and on Netanyahu only.”

  1. Lieberman blames Netanyahu Because he knows and wants to cover the real truth:- The blame goes solely on 1 person and no-one else:- It is entirely Lieberman’s fault! Period!

  2. This is the way to form a coalition in less than one day: AG Mandelblit call Gantz and tells him “if you want me to indict Bibi, then you had better form a coalition with him”. He then call Bibi and tells him: “if you DON’T want me to indict you, then you had better form a coalition with Gantz”………. then when coalition is formed, he drops the charges

  3. Bibi would rather bring down the medinah than have to deal with his own vulnerability to the legal system…..while following different tracks, both he and the Trumpkopf share a narcissism, self-indulgence and visceral hatred of the “elites” (defined as anyone who publicly disagrees with them) that has divided the citizens of both countries to a greater degree than anytime in their respective histories. The sad part is that in both EY and the U.S., the “opposition” seems to be adopting some of the same polarizing strategies.

  4. Send these 120 MK’s to binding arbitration or/& binding mediation {possibly c/o President Reuven Rivlin} and force all 120 of them to grow up.
Whoever sends this Russian spy back to Russia hence freeing this Israeli girl in Russia, shall have amazing Zechuyos to help him/herself in this coalition negotiation.
