SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Sunday’s first rocket attack was reported at about 10:30am. No injuries. Another at 12:50. No injuries. Another rocket attack at 15:25. No injuries.

*Beit Iva, west of Chevron, IDF soldiers discovered a pipe bomb which was detonated in a controlled explosion without incident.

*Arabs during the night uprooted some 1,500 seedlings in Moshav Neria.

*A Dan Company bus was attacked by Arab stone-throwers in Hawarah near Tapuach Junction in Shomron. No injuries.

*Israelis who entered PA-controlled Bet Lechem were taken into custody and turned over to Israeli authorities.

*Closure that was placed on Yesha areas prior to Memorial Day has been lifted.

*PA resident carrying a knife was arrested in a Jenin area checkpoint on Saturday night.

*Arabs near Shomron community of Yitzhar shortly after candle lighting Friday night set wheat field of Jewish community ablaze. When residents responded to extinguish blaze, they were attacked with rocks. No injuries. Due to shmitah year, the field was not planted this year as in past years when Arabs tried to burn the crop.

*Police arrested three Israeli Arabs, hotel employees, for spraying pro-Hamas and Hizbullah graffiti in a Jerusalem hotel dressing room.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*A jeep carrying ammunition went up in flames on Friday on the Jordan Valley Road near Machane Peles. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was totally destroyed in the blaze.

*Construction site employee on Shvela Street in Petach Tikvah as lightly injured on Sunday morning. He was running after an Arab who made off with a tractor from the site. The Arab tried to run him over during the chase. The thief abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled. The injured man was transported to Beilinson Hospital.

*Two Beersheva City Hall employees arrested on Sunday, suspected of fraud and other illegal activities.

*A MDA ambulance on Saturday flipped near the entrance of Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba. Four people inside the emergency vehicles sustained light injuries and were treated in the hospital emergency room. Police accident investigators are working to determine the cause of the incident.

*Hizbullah refuses calls to turn over weapons to Lebanese government.

*Egyptian Intelligence Chief Suleiman tells Meretz MK Dr. Yossi Beilin that a ceasefire can begin immediately and all that prevents it is Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s approval.

*Former Mossad Director Halevy and former IDF Chief Shahak calling for talks between Israel and Hamas.
