Civil Administration Orders Moving Olive Trees

In what will certainly result in increased violent protests, the IDF’s Civil Administration has ordered the uprooting and replanting of 440 olive trees in the Na’alin area to ensure that following the construction of the security barrier they are on the PA side.

Na’alin is located in the Modi’in area and has been the result of weekly violent protests against the ongoing security barrier construction for a number of years.

Local residents already announced they will not accept the plan, warning some of the trees are hundreds of years old and will not survive the process of relocating them.

Earlier in the week, there were violent protests at Na’alin in which security forces were compelled to use riot-control adjuncts to restore order.
