Noam and Aviva Shalit, the parents of captive IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, met on Monday with visiting French President Nicolas Sarkozy, calling upon him to assist in obtaining their son�s release from Hamas captivity.

While no one has seen Shalit since his abduction during a terror attack in Kerem Shalom on June 25, 2006, he is believed to be in Hamas-controlled Gaza.

The visiting president expressed his solidarity with the grieving parents, assuring them he too will assist in ongoing efforts to obtain their son�s release.
