Israel Police Chief Dudi Cohen on Monday released a statement expressing his concern over the threat posed to Israel’s democracy resulting from the widespread government corruption. Chief Cohen was addressing a conference hosted in Haifa University on police and academia.

Cohen was obviously hinting at the ongoing investigations against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, but he was careful not to leave the parameters of hinting at the ongoing investigation and he at no time mentioned the actual investigation or the prime minister’s name.
