The Tel Aviv Municipality refused to authorize a right-wing counterprotest on Motzei Shabbos, when a left-wing protest against the government’s planned judiciary reforms is taking place in Tel Aviv and multiple other locations, JDN reported on Thursday.
“They’re trying to silence us,” a right-wing activist complained to JDN. “They’re only allowing leftists to protest. Our voice isn’t equal?”
The municipality claimed that all public spaces are already reserved for left-wing protests.
National Unity chairman Benny Gantz issued a statement on Thursday afternoon that he and his party members will protest against the “coup d’etat” ” on Motzei Shabbos at four locations across the country – Tel Aviv, Haifa, Be’er Sheva, and Jerusalem.
