Dov Hikind Statement to YWN on Resignation of PM Olmert

hikind.jpg“I am relieved that Ehud Olmert is resigning. Unfortunately he has been an extremely weak leader, faced with major defeats which have undermined the security of Israel. The sad chapter of the Second Lebanon War and a series of misguided platforms have resulted in Israel’s deterrent capacity being seriously eroded in the eyes of its enemies. A prime minister who faced such unprecedented challenges in terms of integrity, could not possibly continue as leader of the state of Israel. The only question is why it took so long. This is the man who was a die hard supporter of disengagement from Gaza which was disastrous and continues to threaten the well being of Israelis. This is the man who advocated for the unilateral withdrawal from the West Bank. We only hope that Israel has more determined, more effective leadership waiting in the wings.”

  1. Where is the better leadership? Can we find a non corrupt, nationalistic, torah interested individual? Are we as a nation deserving OF THE PROPER LEADERS? (scary question)

  2. No offense to Mr. Hikind, but no one really cares about his take regarding this issue. As a New York State Assemblyman, perhaps he should be fighting for our community in Albany on the pertinent issues at the STATE level. Some people need to learn their place, and this is classic Hikind using issues beyond his scope to further his name recognition.
