IDF To Procure 3rd Squadron Of Adir F-35 Stealth Fighter Jets

Israel’s Ministry of Defense and IDF have approved a plan to procure a third squadron of “Adir” F-35 aircraft, expanding the Air Force fleet to a total of 75 F-35s.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant approved the recommendation of IDF Chief of Staff Herzi HaLevi and Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar to acquire another 25 Adir fighter jets, the world’s most advanced stealth combat aircraft.

The new aircraft, to be manufactured by Lockheed Martin, are worth an estimated $3 billion and will be received from the US as part of the US military aid budgeted for Israel.

  1. The IAF made a lot of firsts for the f35z
From the first in actual combat, to the first to be damaged in action (bird/missile strike depending who you believe)

  2. 1. They may have a long wait. The United States and its Allies (note that Israel is NOT allied with the United States, it is mere a “client” state) want the F-35s to be prepared for an possible uncoming war with Russia and China (a conflict in which Israel is striving to be neutral).

    2. Especially with a Democratic president, or Democrats controlling the Congress, any “aid” to Israel, even in the form of credits to buy American good, will come with serious “strings attached”, and these strings will probably be very woke and very unacceptable to most Israelis.
