Barak Wants to Speed Up Gaza Periphery Shelters

Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Sunday called to expedite the manufacture of 500 portable shelters ordered for Sderot and other municipalities in the Greater Sderot Area, which includes the Gaza periphery communities.

While the project will not be completed until the end of 2008, Defense Minister Matan Vilnai is hopeful that by the opening of the 2008-2009 school year, the shelters, which can accommodate 70 people, will be positioned near every school.

To date, there are many shelters in Sderot, but the residents of the area still lack protection in many areas. In Sderot, the standard bus stop have long been removed, replaced by rocket-resistant concrete shelters, but this only provides a solution in limited areas.

  1. I like this idea by Obama (to speed up the installation of shelters). However, I wonder why the need for so many shelters doesn’t make him more aware of the constant and flagrant violation of the “cease fire.” Let him speak out about how wrong it is bomb a Jewish town from coward hiding places in a different country.
Also, why are so very many anti Jewish people attracted to Obama?
