SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Today, Tuesday, is day 56 of the virtual Gaza ceasefire.

*Today is Gilad Shalit’s 780th day in Hamas captivity.

*IDF soldiers involved in counter-terror operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron during the night arrested 16 suspects. The suspects in custody were turned over to the custody of the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) for interrogation.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*PM Olmert and FM Bar-On have agreed to accept the Dorner Commission report, to significantly increase payment to over 40,000 Holocaust survivors.

*DM Barak tells a Herzliya audience that we do not have the luxury of cutting the defense budget.

*PM Olmert’s draft final borders proposal to PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) entails giving away some 93% of Yehuda and Shomron to the PA in addition to Negev area lands.

*Yesha Council officials agree to uproot and relocate the community of Migron.

*Approximately 250 Jews are expected to be airlifted out of Gorbi on Tuesday as the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Foreign Ministry working together towards bringing them to safety.
