Prime Minister Ehud Olmerts cabinet secretary, Oveid Yechezkel, was questioned by police on Monday for eight hours regarding his alleged involvement in illegal activities connected to the prime minister.
Yechezkel was questioned under warning, which signals a criminal indictment is likely. He may face charges of fraud and breech of trust pertaining to a period during which he was an aide to Olmert during his tenure as minister of industry & trade, 2003-2005. Yechezkel is believed involved in Olmerts illegal political appointments and other dealings.
In a message to the media released on Monday by the Prime Ministers Office, officials stated that all of Yechezkels activities were within the framework of the law.
