HaGaon Landau: Say Perek 91 Of Tehillim: “Yosheiv B’Seiser Elyon;” Yeshiva Z’man To Begin On Monday

Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka HaGaon HaRav Dov Landau on Sunday morning instructed Klal Yisrael – men, women, and children – to repeat Perek 91 of Tehillim – Yosheiv B’Seiser – due to the difficult situation in Eretz Yisrael.

The Rosh Yeshivah added that the tzibur should repeat the perek passuk by passuk after tefillos in shuls.

HaRav Landau also instructed to begin the winter yeshivah zeman on Monday in order to increase the zechus of limmud Torah during this time. The Rosh Yeshivah clarified, however, that it must be done in accordance with the instructions of municipal authorities and Israeli security forces.

In a letter written by the Rosh Yeshivah and signed by HaGaon HaRav Moshe Hillel Hirsch and HaGaon HaRav Baruch Dov Povarsky, HaRav Landau wrote: “It is appropriate in all respects, in the light of the very serious and unclear situation, that the winter zeman begin on Sunday or Monday…subject to the guidance of the authorities.”

On Motzei Shabbos, HaRav Landau ordred that limmudim be canceled at all Talmudei Torah on Sunday, Isru Chag, due to fear of situations of pikuach nefesh on the streets and in schools, and all ordered the cancellation of all hakafos shniyos at all yeshivos.

The Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah of Shas published a letter on Sunday saying that the zeman will begin on Monday or Tuesday and on Tuesday at 5 p.m. a public tefillah will be held at heichelei Torah.

The Badatz Eidah HaChareidis of Yerushalayim published a letter on Sunday calling to gather at tefillos on Monday and complete the entire Sefer Tehillim.

  1. Rav Shach cancelled bein hazmanim 50 years ago and the rumor is that he had regrets. Will there be a vacation in the middle of the zman when the war is over?

  2. @aymdock What the flip is wrong with you? This is what you can think of, if you’ll get vacation in middle of the zman if bein hazmanim is cancelled?!?! If you are serious you are a sick person who barely resembles a Yid in his middos – and if you are joking, you are sick, sick letz – how dare you make a joke out of dead, injured, and captured Yidden?

You disgust me. What a sick person you are.
