HORROR IN BRISK: Drunk Arab Terrorizes Yeshiva On Friday Night

It was a frightening moment in the famed Brisk yeshiva building in Yerushalayim, when a violent drunk Arab entered the premises on Friday night and began destroying property.

According to reports, a few Bochrim were learning after 1:00AM in the yeshiva, when suddenly they heard screaming and violent noises. They then saw the man, who began breaking anything he was able to grab, throwing down tables, chairs and Seforim, as the horrified Bochrim froze in place.

The man then seemed to disappear, but it was believed that he was still inside the building. Borchim from nearby Diras awaked and joined in the search for the man. he was eventually located in the dining room of the yeshiva. Upon being found, he began breaking things and turned violent once again.

Eventually, police arrived, and the man was taken to the hospital in handcuffs.

Upon hearing the horror that unfolded, the Rosh yeshiva, Hagaon HaRav Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik said, Bichasdei hashem, no one was hurt and this was “בבחינת השליך חמתו על עצים ואבנים”.

  1. who began breaking anything he was able to grab, throwing down tables, chairs Lamentably akin to Chabad people this past Monday evening also throwing benches & other items around

  2. It was one drunken arab against at least 20-25 young yeshiva bachorim, why wasn’t this filthy sewer rat beaten to a pulp?
If this would have happened in one of the National religious yeshiva’s, you can bet your bottom dollar this filthy sewer rat would have been hauled away with every bone broken.

  3. When did we become such wimps? Multiple Buchrim against one unarmed drunk & “they froze”? More Buchrim came to search & when they found him they again did nothing. How many Buchrim were there in the dining room just watching him break things?
I’m not expecting anyone to be a hero but how can 4?, 5? 6? 10? Buchrim just sit & watch too scared to act?

  4. Is there any reason why multiple young bochurim couldn’t take out a single drunk Palestinian engaged in turing over shtenders in the beis medrash?? Describing this as “horror” seems a bit of hyperbole compared to what most in EY would consider real “horror”

  5. Eretz Yisrael has been attacked by terrorists THOUSANDS OF TIMES.
    That is an undeniable fact.
So why did nobody in the Yeshivah have a loaded gun?

  6. אפשר קען מען קלערען – וואס מיינט דער ראש הישיבה דו זאגן עס איזה “בבחינת”. אולי איז ” “עס נאר “בתורת

  7. Other than the fact that to attack this individual would do nothing other than assuaging your bruised ego, if not cause a severe and violent continuation of events, it also seems that it was on shabbos. You cannot make a chabura on shabbos, as the Bachurim in Brisk are very aware.
BH that the finest of Am Yisroel behave like Yisroel. And Oy to us that so many of our brethren have fallen to the emotional pressure spurred by the Sitra achara and are now so wounded that the lack of a “beating” in this case is painful to us. I say this to myself as well.
The way forward is going back to the basics, being thankful to the RBSO, and keeping our true goal in sight.
