SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*A bus sustained heavy damage in a rock-throwing attack at the Arab village of Hizme, a few hundred yards from the northern Jerusalem checkpoint towards Benjamin Regional Council communities in Shomron. No injuries.

*At least one Kassam rocket landed in the Shar HaNegev Regional Council on Monday afternoon. No injuries or damage reported.

*19:50: Red Warning system detected another Kassam launch from Gaza. No injuries being reported.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Syrian’s foreign minister reports there is no progress in peace talks with Israel.

*Chareidim in the Meah Shearim area of Yerushalayim on Monday continued throwing rocks and burning garbage receptacles in protest against the continued incarceration of members of the Vaad Tznius. A number of streets were closed as a result of the violence.

*Kadima leadership candidate Minister Shaul Mofaz attacked foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, who is also a contender in the leadership race, condemning her support of the prisoner release without any demands from the PA, reminding her Gilad Shalit is still a prisoner in Gaza.

*Public Security Minister Dichter approved a number of changes in the Israel Police senior command.
