PA: There is No Agreement on Core Issues

PA (Palestinian Authority) Foreign Minister Riad al-Malki there are no points of agreement with Israel, not on core issues and not even on smaller issues. The senior PA official stated there is no agreement since the two sides have not managed to agree on any of the matters being discussed in negotiations.

Addressing the Israel Council on Foreign Relations, the senior PA official stated talks are taking place at a brisk pace, almost daily, in the hope of reaching an agreement by the end of 2008.

Malki read a statement from Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister Salem Fayyad, who warned he feels the possibility of a two-state solution is waning as support for such a concept is losing momentum on both sides, as well as in the international community. He warns that both sides are losing out to the extremist elements.
