President Shimon Peres on Tuesday was hosted on an Israel Navy missile boat, getting a first-hand view of some of the navy�s capabilities. The ship, the Chanit, was hit by a missile during the Second Lebanon War.

During his visit, the president revealed his revolutionary plan that every soldier completing compulsory military service would earn a bachelor�s degree. The plan he explained has already been presented to Defense Minister Ehud Barak and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi and the military is currently investigating it in depth.
