Israel and Syria are holding secret talks mediated by the United Arab Emirates, Reuters reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, the talks, which have not been previously reported, are being held indirectly and are focused on security and intelligence.
A source described the talks, which began days after Syrian President Ahmed Sharaa visited the UAE on April 13, as currently focused on “technical matters.”
Another source, a senior Syrian official, told Reuters that the talks are limited to security issues, specifically counterrorism efforts, and are not addressing Israeli army activities in Syria, which has been a source of tension between the countries.
