President Trump welcomed a delegation of recently released Israeli hostages to the White House on Wednesday, meeting with the former captives and their families.
“You’re not a hostage anymore… today you’re heroes,” Trump told the group in footage released by the White House.
Among those visiting Washington are Omri Miran, Eitan Mor, Matan Angrest, Nimrod Cohen, Avinatan Or, Bar Kuperstein, brothers Ariel and David Cunio, and twins Ziv and Gali Berman — all freed last month from Gaza after two years in captivity.
According to the Hostages and Families Forum, 17 former captives freed last month are participating in the visit. A total of 20 hostages were released under the ceasefire agreement that went into effect during that period.
The group also met with US special envoy Steve Witkoff.
