The police filed a request on Monday with the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court for authorization to review correspondence on a WhatsApp group on the phone of former Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi.
The group was opened on October 31, 2025—several days before Tomer-Yerushalmi’s arrest—under the name “Yifat, Zamir, Daniel, Attorney-Client Privilege.” It contains correspondence between Tomer-Yerushalmi and two lawyers from the office of Dori Klagsbald, who represents her.
The police also requested permission to review notebooks seized from Tomer-Yerushalmi’s home on November 3, the day after her staged suicide attempt.
Tomer-Yerushalmi’s defense attorney claimed that the notebooks are protected by attorney-client privilege and they were placed in a sealed envelope in accordance with a previous court ruling.
Last week, the head of the investigations division claimed that the investigation in the case was complete. However, several days ago, Police Commissioner Dani Levi ordered additional investigative steps in the case.
