Indictments were handed down on Sunday in the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court against 16 members of the left-wing Israeli community who took part in an illegal protest outside the Sdei Dov air force base on Friday. The protest was held despite the area being classified a closed military zone.
The charges included violating a closed military zone, illegal congregation and interfering with police in the performance of their duty. The court rejected a request to hold the suspects without bail.
The suspects arrived at the base to protest against the ongoing IDF operation in Gaza. They carried signs against IDF soldiers.
