Egypt: Meshal Took the Hint

According to Egyptian officials, Hamas’ Damascus-based leader, Khaled Meshal, has agreed to support the latest Egyptian-mediated ceasefire between Hamas and Israel after Israel sent him a message, failure to do so would place his life in danger.

Egyptian officials explain they passed a message to Meshal that if he torpedoes yet another ceasefire initiative he will be targeted for elimination by Egypt, with Cairo no longer willing to suffer defeat at the hands of Meshal’s compliance with Iranian directives.

Egyptian officials report this week that “he got the message”, explaining this is the reason for Meshal’s sudden willingness to move ahead with a deal.
