Amid rumors the foreign ministry portfolio may be requested back to placate Likud’s Silvan Shalom, Yisrael Beitenu on Tuesday morning released a message that if this is the case, Yisrael Beitenu will take its place among the opposition MKs.

“Anyone basing such a move on the calculation that Avigdor Lieberman will be removed from the post due to the police investigation must realize it will take at least 13 years, as we see with the investigation against him that began in 1996”.

Party officials added that the very mention of such a possibility makes working together in the future that much more difficult, damaging the modicum of trust that exists between coalition partners.
