In an interview with the Qatari Al-Shark newspaper, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stated “all Israeli leaders are the same,” explaining that Ariel Sharon “massacred Palestinians and Barak had the war in Gaza”, stating the left and right in Israel are one.

Assad, who recently repeated peace overtures to the incoming Israeli administration added that one day, “through peaceful means or war” Syria will return to the Golan Heights.

The White House has exhibited an anxiousness to establish a dialogue with Damascus, contrary to Israel’s interests, while Assad feeds the new American administration by releasing the appropriate statements as he continues to support Hamas and Hizbullah terror.
