Refuse experts are searching for a new dump site for Jerusalem and Maale Adumim residents since the Abu Dis site is full to capacity. One of the options suggested was a location in Yehuda or Shomron, but the idea was scrapped due to concerns the international community would express objections. Jerusalem residents and businesses produce about 1,200 tons of garbage daily.
