Committee to be Established to Probe Hadassah’s Actions in Meah Shearim Case

litzman2.jpgDeputy Minister of Health R’ Yaakov Litzman on Wednesday is expected to establish a committee that will probe Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital’s actions in the case of the Meah Shearim mother suspected of starving her son. According to a Ladaat report, the committee will be headed by Prof. Chaim Hershko, formally associated with Shaare Zedek Medical Center and a senior internist and expert in the field of hematology. Today, Hershko holds a post in the Health Ministry.

Calls for the establishment of a probe committee are ongoing from leaders of the Eida Chareidis, who vow they will not permit the matter to be swept under the carpet, confident any objective committee will find wrongdoing by the hospital. Rabbanim Shlita of the Eida have told YWN Israel they are certain there was malfeasance by Hadassah, and they are determined to bring these detestable actions to the public spotlight.

  1. What kind of wrong doing did the hospital do?Hadassah Hospital saved the child’s life.

Wrong doing is with the mother.

  2. The child was placed in the cancer ward when his mother brought him in for mono.

This should have set off alarm bells, obviously they were going to do experiments on the child, probably funded by research money from the U.S., as usual.

  3. #1 Don’t jump to conclusion before you know. Happens to be I just bought the Mishpacha mag in it they have an interview with dr birnbaum who himself claims the child deteriated after he was submitted to hospital in their care. which comes to prove something.

  4. deepthinker, I’m amazed that so many people like you in this forum, pretend to know it all about this case. there have been so many stories from people like you like:
    1) the kid had cancer and was going thru chemo.
    2) the kid was experimented on with many surgeries
even though he doesn’t have any “surgery scars”
    3)he had intestinal problems
4)Now you said that he had “mono” and was placed in the oncology ward.
With all these sipurim from people that claim to know the family, I wonder, who is really telling the truth here. can you all wait and see that B”H the real truth will come out and STOP making stories to evade the reality that everybody here are ignoring the poor child.

  5. The Yated had a piece on the wrongdoing. Basically, there are reasonable suspicions that the hospital misdiagnosed and were the ones at fault for the malnutrition. The hospital had actually given orders not to let the child eat! Now they say that it was the mothers’ fault!?

Finally, when the mother started talking about switching hospitals, certain people in the hospital feared for their reputation which would be exposed when the medical records would be seen by the second hospital.

From that time and on, they started putting pressure on her, first by making life difficult, and finally with this accusation, and reporting her to social services who ordered her arrest.

If she really had a mental disease, why arrest her? The arrest was a way of tormenting her; a type of warning.

According to this information, Hadassah Hospital is twice guilty; firstly for the mistreatment of the child, and secondly, for the unethical accusations and unfounded arrest of the mother.
