  1. The place to be is Har HaBayit, and not the kotel, the kotel is just the retaining wall around the plateau that was build during the time of herod. I’m not saying that the place is not holy but, is not the holiest place of Judaism, unfortunately many Rabbis for different reasons whether political or “religious” reasons do not allow to ascend to Har HaBayit. Rabbi S. Goren wrote a book many yrs ago called Har HaBayit in Hebrew and he exposes all the halachic issues about ascending to the Mount, and it is permitted by halacha as long as you do certain things like going to the mikveh before going up and so on….for more info go to templeinstitute.org. And lets hope that after so many chillul HaShem in these 3 weeks that may Hashem have mercy on us and we be zoche to buid the Beit HaMikdash bemheira veyameinu……..

  2. #3 Isn’t Rabbi Goren the one who was מתיר a ממזר? Also the reason Rabanim don’t let us go up on Har Habayis is bec. we are not בקיאים on the exact מקום המקדש and to go there בזמן הזה you would be חייב כרת bec. we are all טמאי מתים. Therefore better not to go up there at all and get into any ספק חייבי כריתות.

  3. Tamidbsimcha, I bet you live in חוץ לארץ, whether Rav Goren z”l was מתיר a ממזר, maybe there was some special case, but that is not the issue here, all these rabanim that forbid to ascend to Har haBait, do not want to go over all the facts about the place, the Rambam who was greater than these Rabbanim, went up to the Temple Mount, many other ” big shot” charedi Rabbis go up too, but they do not want their name published because they are afraid of the “political and religious” ranmifications. Also I bet you never read Rav Goren’s book. And everything you wrote here are the same lame excuse that people like you, who only care for their space of 4 amot and not what is outside of it………

  4. First of all I do live in E”Y, secondly what I was saying about “Rabbi” Goren is that you can’t quote him. Obviously he is not a good Halachic source. Thirdly many Rabanim went over the facts which is exactly why they are afraid to let us go up onto Har Habayis. The bottom line is יראת שמים. If you have it then you should be afraid to go up, otherwise…..
