Secularists’ Provocation Expected in Kiryat Yovel this Shabbos

daven2.jpgThe city order permitting the reopening of the shul on Ulsvenger Street in Kiryat Yovel on shabbos has some the area’s hardcore secularists quite upset, to the point they feel the need to find ways to annoy mispalalim and disrupt the shabbos atmosphere. They are unwilling to make peace with the fact that frum Jews are going to have a shabbos minyan in their community.

They are planning a “solidarity march” that will get underway at 5:30pm, culminating with “street games” for the community, at the site of the shul. “We will have Kabalat Shabbat with singing and games” the adverts read, calling on participants to come with balls, kites and other street activities.

The daily HaMevaser reports that in order to attract the youth, they promise photo crews will be on hand and there will be “other surprises as well”.

  1. HaHA, ouch!
It’s absolutely and unequivocally a false thing to say, but its humorous, so why not equate people protesting the abuse and mistreatment of Torah and those who follow it with those who protest against the observance of mitzvos, when it doesn’t even remotely effect them in any way, shape, or form (or then, possible, help them deserve to remain in Eretz Yisroel)?
And, its funny, but you never hear about police indiscriminately beating up the secularists, do you?
