The family of 25-year-old Refael Mirilishvilli received the painful news, that the DNA testing confirmed the body found in an abandoned Beit Dagan building was that of their missing loved one, a member of the Lod Chabad community and activist of Yad L’Achim.

The levaya began shortly after 9:00, making its way from Tzemach Tzedek Street to the Beit Aryeh Shul nearby. The first hesped was delivered by Rav Yurkavitz Shlita, the rav of the Chabad community in Lod. He spoke of how the niftar died Al Kiddush Hashem.

The scene was an extremely painful one with participants aware of the tragic events surrounding the niftar’s demise most likely point to a homicide. Police are still investigating the case which may not be publicized as per a court gag order.
