Arabs Accuse Yitzhar Residents of Firing & Wounding Shepherd

According to residents of the Arab village of Ein Abus, near Yitzhar, “settlers” opened fire and wounded a shepherd, wounding him lightly. The alleged gunshot victim was taken in a PA ambulance to a hospital.

A scuffle was taking place when the IDF arrived on the scene, compelling soldiers to separate the sides. The Arabs also allege the residents of Yitzhar slaughtered ten of their sheep.

According to Yigal Amital of Yitzhar, the real events are a bit different then reported by the Arabs, explaining the first-response team of the community was activated when it was realized the Arabs were trying to infiltrate into the community. The community has already been targeted in terror attacks in the past. Amital confirms rock-throwing was taking place on both sides, adding he is unaware of the factual integrity of the Arab version, which he suspects was given to mask the attempted infiltration and place the Jews on the defensive.

Both the Rabbis for Human Rights and Peace Now organizations released statements pertaining to the “defenseless Arabs” and the “ongoing Jewish intifada against the innocent Arabs in the area”.
