US Consulate in Jerusalem Releases Updated Travel Warning


Given ongoing concern about disturbances in Jerusalem, we are conveying by means of this warden message that the U.S. Consulate General Regional Security Office in Jerusalem recommends avoiding Old City Jerusalem through sundown, Friday, October 9. 
 
For further information on safety and security in Israel, please consult the Department’s web site at http://travel.state.gov, where the current Worldwide Caution, Travel Warnings, including the Travel Warning for Israel, West Bank and Gaza, and Travel Alerts can be found. Up-to-date information on security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the United States and Canada or, for callers outside the United States and Canada, a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays.)
 
Americans in Tel Aviv are strongly encouraged to register with the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy through the State Department’s travel registration website, https://travelregistration.state.gov.  U.S. citizens who require emergency services may telephone the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv at 03-519-7551.

  1. Deeply touched that Obama and the State Dept. are so worried about those visiting Yerushalayim. I think they better start worrying about THEMSELVES when HaSh-m decides its time to “reward” them for their anti Am Yisrael stance!

  2. Yeah, uh-huh, I will definitely consult with the State Department about travel to, and within Eretz Yisrael. While I’m at it, I’ll ask for their opinion about eating in the Sukka on Simchas Torah…
