Thursday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


IDF soldiers involved in counter-terrorism operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron arrested 5 suspects on Wednesday night.

**Trade Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer during a meeting on Wednesday with Turkey’s new ambassador to Israel stressed Turkey’s vital role in regional affairs and as an intermediary between Israel and Arab states.

**Former MK Emanuel Zissman z”l was niftar on Wednesday at the age of 74. He served in Knesset 1988-1999, in the Labor and Third Way parties. He served as the Israeli diplomatic representative to Bulgaria from 2000-2002. He will be buried in Yerushalayim on Thursday.
