A school bus driver carrying 30 children was stopped by police on Route 79 in the Galil. Police determined he was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

A school teacher observed the bus, leading her to believe the driver was drunk. She phoned the police ‘100’ emergency number and reported her suspicions. A police car was dispatched and a checkpoint was established. A traffic policeman on his way home stopped the driver, Katzar.net reported on Wednesday.

A blood test determined an alcohol blood level twice the permissible maximum. Bottles of alcohol were also found in the bus. The driver was placed under arrest and his driver’s license was suspended.
