Visiting Israel on Sunday, Chief of Egyptian Intelligence General Omar Suleiman met with President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, and Defense Minister Ehud Barak. According to official reports, they discussed a number of regional issues but in essence, it is believed that the meetings focused on the impending deal towards obtaining the release of Gilad Shalit.
Talks also included ongoing efforts to jumpstart the diplomatic process between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority) and other matters of mutual interest.
Yisrael HaYom reports that Suleiman is expected to travel to Washington in the near future for a meeting with President Barak Obama.
