Hebrew University officials in Jerusalem canceled a planned event sponsored by the Hadash Party after university officials learned of the true agenda. Written material was distributed in Arabic on campus ahead of the event, explaining they will mark the first anniversary of the “the damned abominable Zionist war”, namely Operation Cast Lead, the IDF’s counter-terrorism offensive in Gaza.
While the university wished to accommodate students affiliated with Hadash, as they felt compelled to do, once learning of the unacceptable agenda, they explained they cannot condone or permit a forum that simply intends to incite against and condemn the state.
Right-wing activists on campus got hold of the Arabic language pamphlets distributed ahead of the event, filing a complaint with university officials, leading them to probe the matter and finally cancel the permit.
