The Jerusalem District Court on Wednesday handed down a two-year prison sentence on two Jerusalem Arab residents, Ayyad Abid and Abdullah Abid, relatives who planned to abduct an IDF soldiers to use them as bargaining chips towards obtaining the release of other family members who are serving life sentences in Israeli prisons.
The two planned to use a tractor to ram a border police jeep stationed at the entrance of their village and then abduct the soldiers and use them as hostages.
The two also planned on harming their victims the court learned.
