Court Reduces Yolish Krauss’ Jail Term

1A year after he was sentenced to seven months imprisonment, the Jerusalem District Court has shortened the sentence of Yolish Krauss by two months. Krauss is viewed as the Operations Officer of the Eida Chareidis. He was convicted of running an illegal slaughter house, failing to file with tax authorities and not maintaining an official identity card.

According to Krauss’ attorney, his client has begun cooperating with authorities, leading to the reduction in his sentenced to five months. Attorney Yonatan Kivil explains Krauss has been working with VAT Authorities and has even made partial payment.

He agreed to cooperate towards avoiding imprisonment on either Sukkos or Pesach, which he felt would have resulted in a true hardship on his family.
