President Obama Enters Meeting Between Barak & NSC Jones

US President Barak Obama on Monday surprised Defense Minister Ehud Barak, when the president walked into a meeting between Barak and National Security Advisor General James Jones. The president used the opportunity to once again stress America’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security despite differences of opinion regarding ongoing construction in the eastern capital, ABC reported.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs confirmed the president’s surprise entry into the meeting, adding the administration remains committed to advancing Mideast peace efforts. Gibbs added the president and defense minister discussed regional security challenges and joint threats.

In a related matter, earlier in the day, Barak met with CIA director Leon E. Panetta, and according to reports in Israel, Barak presented the senior official with undisputable proof that Syria has indeed sent Scud missiles to Hizbullah in southern Lebanon despite adamant denials of such an occurrence by leaders in Syria, Egypt and Lebanon.

Lebanese President Mishael Suleiman released a statement backing Syria and others in their denial of the Scud delivery to the terrorist army, calling Israel’s accusations baseless. He added that while his country does not seek a conflict with Israel, if Israel attacks, it will find Lebanese forces ready for every eventuality.

  1. So Barak Obama is throwing his support behind Barak by meeting with him after spurning Netanyahu.
Forget the “unwavering support for Israel’s security…”.
This is blatant interference in another country’s political process.
